Vaping and Synthetic Nicotine

This session will provide a refresher on vaping basics and updates on the status of vaping technology. Attendees will learn about synthetic nicotine, why it is currently emerging, and its associated health concerns. Vaping as harm reduction will also be covered including the pros and cons of vaping in recovery, as well as resources to support becoming nicotine-free.

Target Audience
Counselors, social workers, psychologists, nurses, peer recovery coaches, and others who work with those who vape.

Frankie has worked and taught in the addiction field for twenty-five years, with special interests in women and families affected by addiction, tobacco use disorder, and the LGBTQ+ population. Frankie is a West Virginia certified advanced addiction counselor, a certified clinical supervisor, and a certified tobacco treatment specialist.
